The Department of Geography is one of the departments in the School of Arts and Social Sciences. It has been in existence since Febuary 2018 after the split of the larger Social Science Education.This was occasioned by the fact that Geography is multi disciplinary hence the need for its growth and expansion to accommodate more of its programmes.

It is the home to all Geography and environment related programmes and courses. It serves about 800 students per year. It offers between 26 and 30courses per academic per year which are taught by qualified staff and a number of part time lecturers. These courses are offered to the students taking the following programmes: Bachelor of Arts in Geography, Bachelor of Education in Arts( Geography), Masters of Arts in Geography and in the process of developing PhD in Geography.
